ARE YOU A CANDIDATE FOR LASER VISION CORRECTION?

The patient’s qualification for the procedure is decided by an ophthalmologist specializing in refractive surgery. The basis for qualification for the procedure are detailed tests that diagnose the condition of the eye and determine the possibility of laser correction. The tests are performed within one day (on average they last 1.5-2 hours). On the same day, the doctor decides whether to qualify the patient for laser vision correction.

The procedure is painless, safe and has been successfully used in ophthalmic surgery for years. It is performed on an outpatient basis. The diagnostic and surgical equipment used to perform laser vision correction procedures at SPEKTRUM enables the procedure to be performed taking into account the individual structure of the eye. Precise preparation for surgery, based on the results of high-quality tests, allows for an optimal assessment of indications.

At the SPEKTRUM Clinic, we perform laser vision correction procedures using the LASIK method, which is currently the most common method in the world, FemtoLASIK, which is the most modern method, EBK and LASEK. The specialist uses a laser to change the shape of the front, transparent part of the eye – the cornea.

The patient goes home just one hour after the procedure. Removing the defect and restoring the ability to see properly is permanent. Unfortunately, sometimes there are conditions that make laser correction surgery risky – and therefore strongly discouraged by doctors.

.

Age – Laser vision correction is performed when the eye is fully developed, and the defect is stable. Ideal candidates are people aged 21-55. Then the defect is generally stable, and the body is young enough to quickly regenerate and cope with healing. The basis for qualification for the procedure are, of course, detailed tests, based on which the doctor decides on the qualification and proposes treatment methods.

Defect – the procedure can correct myopia up to -14 diopters, farsightedness (also known as hyperopia) up to +6 diopters and astigmatism up to 5 diopters. If a spherical and cylindrical defect occurs at the same time, they can be removed completely, provided that they do not exceed the maximum possible value after adding up the individual defects, but these are individual cases and consultation is required.

At SPEKTRUM, we also provide assistance in financing laser vision correction procedures. We offer our patients interest-free installments so that their financial situation is not an obstacle to maintaining good health.
